Tried two of what I thought would be great bourbons last night and to my surprise they were extremely different. One would have thought that the Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year would have beaten the Blade and Bow 22 year hands down, but that is not the case.  Today's review is on the Blade and Bow, aged 22 years.  This whiskey smells peppery with a hint of caramel that tickles your nose.  With those expectations some would just stop there but the surprise is when you taste this great spirit.  Starts with tastes of vanilla, and oak and becomes slightly warm on the end but not spicy.  As the sips continue hints of buttery caramel and honey appear.  A fantastic bourbon that has been waiting 22 years to present itself.  It is absolutely a perfect bourbon to sip on and enjoy throughout the night.
