This whiskey that started as a blended Canadian whisky will surprise most. It is bottled in Vermont on the Whistle Pig Farm, which may be the reason it has the American spelling.

As most know I do love the Rye Whiskeys. Like most ryes I do look for the bite that one gets when tasting, but with Whistle Pig Straight Rye I received a very surprising smooth and mellow bite at the end of the sample. I really enjoyed sipping this whiskey and could definitely sip some more. The nose on this whiskey is a mild mint, caramel and oak. The taste is not only of the smooth peppermint finish, but consists of a sweet vanilla flavor. Reminds me of the peppermint bark that one can purchase during the holidays at William Sonoma. Very impressed with this blended Canadian Whisky that is transformed and bottled in the US.
