Laws whiskey house has a fantastic staff. Getting to know the team there was an absolute pleasure. When talking with Alex Alexander, distiller at Laws Whiskey about his favorite whiskey recipe he shared his version of the "Pims Cup". So this recipe is Alex's version but with whiskey of course. 2 ounces of cask strength rye whiskey (LAWS)
2 ounces Blood Orange Italian Soda
1/2 grapefruit juice
Cucumber to garnish
Combine all ingredients in your glass and stir to combine.
Garnish with slices of cucumber.
Now Alex did tell me that this drink is best served on a hot summer day, and yes we did discuss this drink in August, in Colorado. Now that September has come, some of you may still be experiencing those warm summer days and some may not. My recommendation is sit in the sun while you drink it for the full experience. I think it is supposed to get back up to the 80s this week so we are still going to enjoy this drink before the cool weather really hits.
