So many recipes to choose from and so little time to enjoy them all before I decide which one goes into my newsletter. October goes to the whiskey sour with a red wine finish. I myself am a big fan of Balistreri wine (locally owned here in Colorado). It was a great pleasure to get to combine two of my favorite things… rye whiskey and Balistreri wine.
2 ounces rye whiskey ( I used Bulleit)
1 ounce simple syrup
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
Combine all ingredients in your cocktail shaker and shake to combine. pour into a rocks glass with fresh ice.
Last but not least
Take a ½ ounce of a fruitful flavor red wine and pour it over the back of a spoon to allow it to float on top of the glass.
Perfect holiday treat
